Painting - Step #2

We are in the middle of a two day holiday - Youth and Sports Day. This means VACATION! Yesterday was spent at the mall. Yes, the whole day at the mall. Don't judge.

I did buy the most expensive pair of shorts you can possibly imagine. Here's the thing. I hate shorts, I had the way they look and I hate how they make me look like I'm off to go camping or something. But these shorts are just the right length, cuffed navy linen with a stylish belt. I loved them. So I paid full price. I better wear them every day this summer. Oh wait, summer in Halifax is not exactly my idea of shorts weather. So I'll have to wear them everyday in Turkey this spring and fall.

Now for the second day of vacation, it was a day spent painting. Yes, the whole day. Because the students were gone my friends and I had the art room to ourselves.

I had a fantastic time and nearly finished the "first draft" of one of my three canvases. I think these women need names so I can refer to them. I think I'll call her Gabriela.

She will, by the way, soon have skin and hair color. Also, I think I'll make the flowers in the frame cream. And finally, I can't decide wheather I like pulling the colors from the background for her eyes and lips, or if would be better natural. You'll have to wait and see.

A close-up of some of the colors.
