Siena Cathedral
A highlight of my visit to Siena was the cathedral, one of the most beautiful I've seen (and I've seen many!)
The outside was covered in fairy-tale pink marble, similiar to the Duomo in Florence.
One of the most unique features of the cathedral is the inlaid marble mosaic floors. "The most ornate of it's kind in Italy!"
The floors were created from the 14th to the 16th century, and are only uncovered for about 6 weeks every year. I was lucky to see them!
P.S. To clarify a post from a few days ago. I do not have bed bugs in Turkey. I think my hostel in Rome had bed bugs but I took all the necessary precautions with my luggage and clothes coming back to Tarsus. I was just dealing with the aftermath of being covered in bites for the last week. Today is the first day when the most painful ones (on my hands) are not causing me distress. I'm just glad I don't have them in my apartment! That would be awful.
