Good Morning!

Good Morning! Actually, if you're on the East Coast, you know it's a little past good morning. Yes, according to my newly adopted time zone, I slept in. How did I manage that? THe wonders of Gravol. Well, I went to sleep at 6:30am Taipei time, 6:30 pm EST. I put on my comfy eyemask and ear plugs and went right to sleep. Then, next thing I knew, there was a sound at my door, I sat up, pulled out my ear plugs and paranoidly whispered "who's there?" Well, it was Kathy making sure I was alive before she went to sleep. I couldn't believe it, it was 11pm Taipei time. I slept for about 16 hours. That's good though, because I have a lot of packing to do 'today' and then one more 'night's' sleep before I leave.

Oh, and this was a picture I took when I was bored. It was awhile ago, but I thought it went with the post title. I fuzzed the edges a little, but the color isn't touched. Posted by Picasa

Carole left for the airport a couple of hours ago. I guess I'll have to keep everyone updated about life in Taipei! I'm currently teaching a summer camp for grade 6 girls (fun!) One girl, Emma, came up to me, amazed at my eye colour. She said "Your eyes... green?" Then "Why?" She was amazed when I explained that my Dad had blue eyes and my Mom had green eyes. I realized that the mysteries of genetics must seem even crazier in a culture where everyone shares the same hair and eye colour!
