This is the chair / bed that I bought when Claire came to visit. I couldn't get it put together with a regular screwdriver, so this summer I bought the fancy/cheap electric screwdriver from Wal-Mart. I still think that Ikea made a mistake, some of the holes were definitely too small, and I had to redrill them. Still, after an hour or two I had a lovely chair to relax on.

I'm glad you finally got that thing put together. I'm in class right now - and my students are writing to your students. How funny!
Craig and I have had some Ikea "fun and excitement" too. In the last week we went to three locations about 8 times, 4 days. Usually at least two locations per night. I don't know if having three Ikeas close by is good or bad. We were getting the runaround with their phone CSRs. I called four times in a row and got four different answers (we have 4 in stock, there are 10 waited to be delivered tomorrow, there are none, and then, there are four but I can't confirm that - the fourth time I asked to speak to a supervisor.) Did you know that the people on the phone are at a central location and "it's not their procedure to do visual checks" on their stock?
Thanks for letting me vent. After all, we have a new bed, dresser, bookshelf and bathroom shelf, and by now they're all assembled. Congrats on your first (I presume) power tool. Remember Tim Taylor on Home Improvement?
