WEll, Kathleen and I were walking up a new street, trying to find a certain store (which we never found). Instead, we saw a restaurant called Ecco, which had Pizza*Pasta*Cafe on the side. We were hungry, the menu looked good, and we could tell it was brand new because it had tons of flowers outside. (In Taiwan, when someone opens a new business, everyone sends them flower arrangements for good luck, which are then displayed outside for a week or so of grand opening).
Well, once inside, we were handed two little tickets. We sat down, and our waiter came over to explain. It was their grand opening day and everyone's whole meal was 1 NT dollar (like 5 cents). So Kathleen and I had salad, garlic bread, pasta and pizza, drinks and dessert for the equivalant of a dime. Now thats a deal!
