It's remembrance day. We three Canadians made little poppies out of construction paper to wear. We also put a sign on our office door: "Today is Remembrance Day. Tell a Miss Nickle what that means and get free candy!" No one took us up on it, and we had a lot of candy. Alas.
The only classes we have on Fridays are grade 1 classes, and it was indeed a challenge explaining remembrance day to them. For my weakest class, I ended up just saying that it was a day when everyone wears flowers and we remember peope who die. They understood that.
