Way ta go Carole!! I'm trying to remember if I ate anything "different" in my travels at your age.I thought I was doing well with lomi-lomi (raw salmon)and poi at a luau. Oh-and pigs' tails. That was in southern Ontario,in 1959,driving from Centralia to Toronto for Christmas, with a bunch of Air force and Army Officers. For a dietitian,I wasn't very adventurous in the culinary line, was I? I'm actually not that adventurous. I'm quite hesitant to just 'dig in' when I don't know what it is. However, once I know exactly what it is, I can usually talk myself into it. Crickets, when deep fried, taste just like deep fried fat - which is better than say, boiled pig intenstines, which I find much less palatable.

Wow - congrats Carole. Certainly a memorable experience.
