This week is dragging along, and I have very little patience while waiting for the weekend. Thankfully, I have a light class load this week because of some testing, so I'm just hanging in there, and putting off all the big planning until the weekend.
Oh, and much to my surprise, Spring is here. Of course, spring in Taipei is the equivalent of summer. It was a high of 27 today! Time to kick on the air conditioning. I have a small kindle of hope that this is only a temporary thaw and that winter will come back in full force for a month of two more. But hope is small. Time to pack up the sweaters, I'm afraid.
Tonight for dinner, I had a special treat - cheese! This is a rare treat indeed, because the good stuff (for me, really old white cheddar) is pricey. But twice I've just been craving cheese so bad I've gone to splurge on a block. Mmmm. Cheese is good.
Oh, and good news. Teaching today reminded me why I love my job. One of my classes today was incredible, there was a real sense of give and take, the students were fully participating, and enjoying themselves while respecting my place as the teacher. It was a great feeling, that even my 'bad' class couldn't ruin. I have given in to the truth that teaching is 10 times better when it comes after coffee. Teaching takes more energy than I have naturally, but put a little cup of caffiene in me and I'm peppy and ready to go. Well, as ready as I can be for the first week back at work.
