Well, today was supposed to be 'vacation' - the only thing I had to do was stay at work all morning and spend one hour proctoring. But as much as I enjoy taking tests (it gets my adreniline pumping), proctoring tests must be one of the most boring jobs in the world. You sit, and you stare. By the end I was rocking back and forth and singing "I am going slowly crazy!" to myself. I was more thankful than the students when the bell rang.
I had the afternoon off, but I spent it taking care of all the paperwork and such for getting my passport renewed. The whole 'six months validity left to travel' thing means I need a renewel before I leave this summer. Three forms, seven pages, and over an hour to fill it all out. Sitting and waiting, although I felt somewhat better at the end because the consulate lady complimented me on filling everything out correctly because most people have to go back and fix things. There. A B.A. at least prepared me for filling out ultra-complicated government forms.
After a boring morning of proctoring and a boring afternoon of forms and waiting rooms, I felt like I should find a dentist to get my teeth scraped clean, just to round out the days mundane and midly painful activities. Or maybe I could find someone who is painting and watch the paint dry.
