Quite possibly my worst night's sleep...ever!

Number of hours lying in bed: 10
Number of hours asleep: 4
Number of hours reading Harry Potter: 1
Mosquitos Killed: 5
Trips to the Washroom: 3
Number of Penguins: 2
Number of times all my cds crashed to the floor, after I rolled over on my mosquito net: 1
Number of times I bemoaned my fate: 4

Culprit for this evening tally? A very silly decision to have a Taiwanese iced tea with my late dinner around 8:30pm. I didn't even think about it, because all the labelling is in Chinese. But it must have been pick-me-up caffiene or something! Stupid!

And the worst part was, yesterday I was getting the beginning of what looked to be a killer sinus cold. By 9pm, I was so tired, I could barely walk straight. But then I started to pack, the drink kicked in, and this morning I feel like I've been run over by a bus.

Now it's off to the hot springs for me. We leave in 45 minutes. I was hoping to have a really relaxing weekend, and it still could happen. I'm the only foreign teacher that has a Chinese roommate. When I heard that, I had a momentary flash of pride that they chose me because I am the most culturally sensitive, but was quickly shot down when I realized we were alphabethical (by our first name, as usual). So I've decided to take advantage of being alone and I'm making it an Advent retreat. I printed off lots of meditations from the internet, and all I'm taking is those, my Bible, and my spiritual journal. It was very hard to leave Harry Potter on the nightstand! I'm going to try to spend as much time quiet and alone as I can, although we have no idea what the schedule is for the weekend. They gave us an entire brochure with everything planned out, but no one had time to translate it for us. So we know when we leave and when we come back, and who our roommates are. Other than that - surprise!

Pictures should be on Sunday morning your time!
